Pug Mill

A pug mill is a specialized piece of equipment used in various industries, primarily in ceramics and pottery production, as well as in the construction and chemical industries. This versatile machine serves the purpose of mixing, homogenizing, and extruding clay or other materials to achieve a consistent and workable blend. Typically consisting of a horizontal or vertical trough, the pug mill is equipped with rotating blades or augers that efficiently blend and compress the materials fed into it. In ceramics, potters use pug mills to reclaim and recycle clay scraps, trimmings, and other waste materials, turning them into a usable and uniform clay body.
